Pearl Gold and Silver Jewellery (Tahiti)
In Polynesian mythology, Tane the Creator of the world brings light into the world. The pearls inspired Him to create the stars. After enlightening the heavens, he gave the pearls to Rua Hatu, the god of the ocean so that he could enlighten the ocean.

The Tahitian pearl is bred in the Pinctada margaritifera cummingii mussel, which is 20-30cm tall and about 30 years old. Because of its size, the Tahitian pearl is also called the queen of pearls.
Only pearls from French Polynesia may bear the name Tahitian pearls.
